The Village of Whitefish Bay will be sending out notification to properties that have confirmed lead or unknown water service lines within the coming week. This notification is required by the EPA as part of the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions.
The Village of Whitefish Bay is focused on protecting the health of every household in our community. We have already begun replacing lead service lines in the Village. The EPA’s Lead and Copper Rule Revision requires that all remaining lead service lines must be replaced with work starting in 2027. It will take approximately 10 years, possibly more if an extension is granted, to complete them all. In 2025, we will continue working with industry experts to develop a comprehensive replacement plan that will meet the EPA requirements, including phasing and financing options.
