[ARCHIVED] Circle Drive Area Street Light Replacement Project Update

1/25/2019 Update: The Village of Whitefish Bay Public Works Department is under contract with the construction company MP Systems for the Circle Drive Area Street Light Replacement Project.  This old street light circuit is the last remaining original street light circuit in the Village and is in very poor condition.  This existing lighting circuit is wired in series, has direct bury wire, requires the use of a separate non-traditional power source and transformer, and requires a substantial amount of maintenance.   The new street light circuit to be installed will be wired in parallel, will operate off of a traditional power service and utilizes break-away street light poles for vehicle safety.

The streets and associated street lights affected by this project are as follows:

Lake Forest Avenue:        Danbury Road to Lake Drive

Danbury Road:                 Lake Forest Drive to Birch Avenue

Birch Avenue:                    Marlborough Drive to Lake Drive

Circle Drive:                        Lake Drive north to Lake Drive South

Kimbark Place:                  Circle Drive to Lexington Boulevard

Lexington Boulevard:     Marlborough Drive to Lake Drive

The new street light poles are expected to be delivered the week of Monday, January 28.   These poles will be temporarily stored in the roadway median on Lexington Boulevard.  Underground conduit boring work will commence that week as well, but is weather dependent.  Extended street light outages in the entire project construction area are expected to begin shortly and continue for several weeks until the final new street light poles, lights and conduit circuits have been installed and energized.

The Public Works Department staff understands the inconvenience that this project will create and greatly appreciates your patience and understanding.   If you should have any questions regarding this project, feel free to contact John Edlebeck, Director of Public Works at 414-962-6690 extension 114 or at j.edlebeck@wfbvillage.org.
